canvas   Today, I was inspired to write this blog post by capturing my 15-year-old son’s reflection of his daily devotional. We ask our son, Joshua Currie, to read a passage of scripture and/or devotional and share his reflection on what he has read. It does not have to be a thesis or dissertation. In fact, he can send myself and my spouse a quick text, at least a paragraph, to share his thoughts on what is unlocked for him as he reflects on what he has read. 1 Listen to my words, O Lord, give heed to my sighing and groaning. 2 Hear the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to You do I pray. 3 In the morning You hear my voice, O Lord; in the morning I prepare [a prayer, a sacrifice] for You and watch and wait [for You to speak to my heart]….

C. Ashley Brown-Lawrence honors God through song (from Hope for Women Magazine

C. Ashely Brown-Lawrence has been singing since she was 2 years old and her dad wrote a song for her to sing. She hasn’t stopped singing since. We have finite minds, but we serve an infinite God. The Bible tells us to delight ourselves in the Lord, and He will give us the desires of our hearts. I have delighted myself in the Lord all of my life. I love serving God. There’s a difference between positioning for geographical opportunities and blessings.

Concealed for a Purpose

In our self-absorbed cultural and the need to be “placed in the front,” it seems that we may have lost the blessings of being the hidden or concealed gems that operate in concert with the Holy Spirit. God declares us as friends (John 15:12-17, John 15:15) in the Bible and he also declares us as soldiers (2 Timothy 2:3). We fight in a realm that is unseen by carnal eyes. As with soldiers in the military, there are those who are out in front, some deployed on special assignments (covertly or overtly), some hidden in total seclusion yet there no one is of lesser value or more important than the other. On April 3, 2017, God began to share a word about the hidden troops. Whether a stay at home mom, someone that is caring for an aging parent, a steward of your family’s time to carve out moments…

Embrace & Pursue Wisdom

Embrace & Pursue Wisdom Embrace & Pursue Wisdom     Take hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands, and you will live. 5 Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them. 6 Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. 7 The beginning of wisdom is this: Get[a]wisdom. Though it cost all you have,[b] get understanding. Proverbs 4: 4-7 Proverbs is the Book of Godly Wisdom. Throughout Proverbs we are admonished to embrace her, pay close attention to her, not to forsake her, understand, love, cherish, and pursue her at all cost – even though it may cost us everything we may have we must do everything within us to understand lady wisdom for she will protect us (Prov. 4:4-7). Lady wisdom adorns us with godly wisdom as she aides us in the navigation of life and life’s…
