The Ransom is Too High

This year, I will write about releasing people from the captivity of our hearts, thoughts, and deeds. We will not take the territory and walk in the abundance that God has for us with unforgiving ways and the roots that prevent progress because of it. Forgiveness is a a Decision! Love is a Decision! Commitment is a Decision! Many of us have allowed our emotions to dictate our walk in Christ. Forgiveness is an area we need to all walk in as this part of the character of God. No matter if we feel “justified” in our unforgiving ways, we must walk in this freedom as well as free people from our hearts and minds as well as ourselves. When reading about forgiveness in Matthew 6:15 the Amplified version and the Amplified Classic version state many significant details Matthew 6:15 In the Amplified version we are to forgive because it…

In Plain View

This is not to beat up or condemn anyone. In fact God gave the word to me so I know it’s for me. I believe when God speaks something to us it is for us first (that is just a principle)   This morning I said it is real cold to Joshua – really cold – dress warm He went out that wind ? hit him and turned around Then I said what about hand and feet warmers He said mom I’ve been using those yet I need those latex gloves Isaiah, the elder son, keeps saying you need a box ? of latex gloves   I said son I have the latex gloves yet the gloves are in a plastic bag   As we know it has been cold in South Mississippi with temps in the 20s and some teens – wind chill making it seem in the teens or…

Rejoice! You Won’t See This Enemy Again!

Exodus 14:13 (New American Standard Bible) But Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the LORD which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever. Today, I simply want to encourage you that the Lord shares with us time and time again of how he fights our battles. It is important for us to not let our hearts become troubled as we cast our cares on God. He will surely keep us in perfect peace as our mind is stayed on him.  The above passage of scripture should make us rejoice that our God speaks peace to our hearts. “Do not fear!” Our caring and loving Father does not want us to operate in fear. Then he says stand by and see the salvation of the Lord. We don’t have…

In Due Season

There is a story behind this. I’m not afraid of new things yet when I find something agreeable to my body I’m usually faithful and just don’t follow the “new fad or perfume.” The story is my family (Mack, Isaiah Currie , De Vaughn Richmond , & Joshua Currie) bought the things I love for Mother’s Day. One of my son’s (Joshua Currie ) kept in mind I was DUE an extra gift ? yet they ran out of supply. Joshua was so conscientious about making sure I got my Gift ? weeks after Mother’s Day he insisted I slate the date on my calendar of when they said they would have more in stock. He did NOT want me to FORGET what was due to me. Although God never runs out of stock, he has slated an appointed time for you to receive. It’s not denied yet delayed. It’s…

Beauty in a Lifestyle of Discipline & Maturity

The featured picture is of the beautiful Ella Sanford. As a blogger that writes devotionals and beauty blogs inspired by faith, I decided I would share her art form. I had the pleasure of being her make-up artist as I worked with photographer, Hal Todd. In her featured picture and the additional poses, the readers will witness her gracefulness yet it comes from minutes, hours, days, and years of practicing her art form. Although her dance and acrobatic exercises are graceful, she packs power and strength that is the result of a disciplined lifestyle and commitment to her craft. She has matured in her acrobatics aerobatics due her consistency. As a makeup artist, I remember certain looks I had to practice and no matter how many networks, celebrities, photoshoots, brides, and women and teens seeking such seasoned experience for their events, I must continue hone my craft, further my…

Prayer: Teach Me – Teach Us

Father God we come before you this morning asking that you continue to guide us in our days. There is so much fighting for our attention to draw us from the promise of your compassion and peace. We know that are blessed by hearing the your voice and you taking us by the hand carefully leading us to navigate the uncharted waters of each day. We are in expectation for every word that proceeds out of your mouth and the impressions  you place in our hearts and spirits. Give us the ability to discern those things around us and things that impact the world. Allow us to know our role as Christians. Guide our speech with love and our journey with compassion Thank you Father for your Love and Kindness towards us. In Jesus’ name.   canvas   Today, I was inspired to write this blog post by capturing my 15-year-old son’s reflection of his daily devotional. We ask our son, Joshua Currie, to read a passage of scripture and/or devotional and share his reflection on what he has read. It does not have to be a thesis or dissertation. In fact, he can send myself and my spouse a quick text, at least a paragraph, to share his thoughts on what is unlocked for him as he reflects on what he has read. 1 Listen to my words, O Lord, give heed to my sighing and groaning. 2 Hear the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to You do I pray. 3 In the morning You hear my voice, O Lord; in the morning I prepare [a prayer, a sacrifice] for You and watch and wait [for You to speak to my heart]….
